Kidney Research UK commissioned Caroline to create a short, emotive film following Ian and his teenage son Mark as they prepared for a kidney transplant. Mark had lived with kidney disease since childhood, and as his health declined, dialysis became part of daily family life. When Ian was found to be a match, he stepped forward to donate. On World Kidney Day 2021, father and son underwent surgery in Newcastle, giving Mark a second chance at life. Caroline’s role was to capture their journey with honesty and warmth, creating a film that continues to raise awareness for Kidney Research UK.
